| Jill Ball began studying art as a child. Prior to exploring the polymer clay medium, Ball was an animal portrait artist where she expressed her love for animals with oil paints on canvas, wood and stone.
Her work has been displayed in exhibitions and shows from Bar Harbor ME, to Charleston SC. Her animal portraiture was exhibited for several years in an annual art show sponsored by the Kansas Wildlife Commission. Paintings of sporting dogs by Jill have been selected for showing at the annual Art Show at the Dog Show in Wichita KS. After experimenting with polymer clay she began combining it with oils, unlike most other artists who work in clay Jill paints her sculptures with an oil glaze creating a lifelike result. She is assisted by her husband Andy who designs the mechanics of her pieces, he is also responsible for most of the wood items used. Her sculptures have been published in various publications, such as Dolls Magazine and Early American Life honored Jill as One of America's Top Traditional Artists. Jill's sculptures have received many awards in competitions and doll shows. P.O. Box 101 Howard, KS. 620-374-2244 If you would like to contact Jill, please email her at jillball@sbcglobal.net |
